Custom printing has changed a lot over the years, and one of the coolest new ways to print designs is called DTG printing. DTG stands for Direct-to-Garment. At The Stitch N Print Store, we use this method to print full-color designs right onto clothes. It’s a great choice if you want something that looks amazing and doesn’t take a lot of time to make.
DTG printing is a digital way to print pictures or designs straight onto clothes, like t-shirts or hoodies. It uses a special printer that sprays the design on with ink kind of like printing on paper, but on fabric! Unlike screen printing, which uses stencils and layers, DTG lets you print colorful and detailed images in one step.
DTG is awesome for printing small batches or even just one shirt. It’s great for detailed designs with lots of colors. You don’t need a big setup or a large order. It also works on different types of fabric.
But there are a few things to know: DTG prints can be more expensive per shirt, and they may not last as long as screen-printed ones if they’re washed a lot.
We use the newest DTG printers to make sure your designs look bright and sharp. You don’t have to order a bunch we’re happy to print just one item if that’s all you need. Our team also checks everything carefully to make sure it turns out right.

DTG works best on 100% cotton. That fabric soaks up the ink really well, so colors come out bold and clear. It can also work on blends and other fabrics, but we may need to treat them a little first.
Lighter fabrics work best because the colors show up better. For darker fabrics, we sometimes add a white layer underneath to make the design pop.
